Under Armor (NYSE: UA)  is an American sports clothing and Accessories Company. The company is a supplier of a wide range of sportswear and casual apparel mainly focusing on hi-tech sportswear for professional athletes. Under Armor’s global headquarters is located in Baltimore, Maryland. The company reported earnings on January 26, 2012. For the quarter ended December 31, the company met expectations on revenues ($403.1M) and beat expectations on earnings per share.

The 30-year veteran announced September 15 that he would take a leave of absence.

McLean-based Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) reported Craig A. Dubow, chairman and chief executive officer, will officially resign his post due to disability from a debilitating medical condition. The 30-year veteran previously announced September 15 that he would take a leave of absence.

Dubow will be replaced by Marjorie Magner and Gracia Martore who will become chairman and CEO respectively.

AvalonBay Communities, Inc.  (NYSE:AVB),  Chairman of the Board, Bryce Blair, accumulated almost 18,000 shares through various transactions between the August 9th and 10th.

All-in-all the Chairman of one of the largest multifamily developers in the D.C. area, made transactions (acquiring and disposing) totaling 35,800 shares of Arlington-based AvalonBay stock and got in as low as $48.60.

A collaboration has formed in Montgomery County’s life sciences industry, Germantown-based Intrexon Corporation (NYSE: XON) and Rockville-based Synthetic Biologics Inc (NYSE: MKT) announced that the two companies will pursue an innovative biotherapeutics treatment for Phenylketonuria.

Phenylketonuria is a rare disease passed down genetically and happens at birth. Infants are born without the ability to properly break down an amino acid called phenylalanine. Symptoms include lighter skin and hair, seizures and abnormal motor and mental skills.

Germantown, Md-based IntrexonCorporation (NYSE: XON) continues to fuel its growth by buying viable biotechnology companies. This time the bioindustrial focused company has entered an agreement to purchase Oxitec, a spin off from Oxford University in the United Kingdom, founded in 2002.

Oxitec uses genetic engineering to control insect pests and protect crops. The technonolgy is particulary focused on control the mosquitoes and the diseases they spread.

Rockville-based developer, Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) has lured an experiential entertainment company to open it's first location in Maryland.

Ifly Indoor Skydiving will be landing at The Avenue at White Marsh. A newly constructed 6,000 square foot building will become Ifly's new base in Baltimore County and is expected to open mid-2016.

All Ifly locations have a unique building design and locations reach as far as Australia. White Marsh would be the Austin-based company's 28th facility.

The McLean, Va-based company has taken a stake in the Video Call Center, LLC (VCC). The company with a facility in Palisades, NY has patented video technology that allows them to create original content from video callers using television workflow processes.

Baltimore-based Under Armour, Inc (NYSE: UA) ended yesterday’s trading session in new territory. Before the previous day’s market open the company reported fourth quarter 2014 financial results that exceeded expectations from analysts.

For the first time in its history Under Armour crossed the $10 billion threshold in market capitalization and settled even higher at just over $11 billion at market close and $104.76 per share.

Baltimore-based Under Armour, Inc (NYSE: UA) surprised analysts with much higher revenue and profit than predicted for the fourth quarter of 2013.

The apparel and shoe maker that is continuously growing in popularity, added $64 million more to its revenue than what analysts had believed would be reported.

The average estimate of 28 analysts was $619 million, Under Armour beat those numbers with a showing of $683 million, an increase of 35%.
