The Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) located at the Woodyard Crossing (formerly Clinton Plaza) Shopping Center in Clinton, Maryland, could see its expansion plans come to a halt if the Prince George's  planning department recommendation of disapproval are accepted by the planning board.

Wal-Mart wants to turn its existing 134,241 square-foot store into a 171,634 square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter that would include a grocery section, general merchandise, and a garden center.

Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) will move jobs from itsRefining and Supply Company; Research and Engineering Company and ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Company all based at its Fairfax County location, to the Houston, Texas metro area.

The company CEO said the listing on the NYSE is an evolutionary step for the company which has made strategic investments and boosted its balance sheet.

McLean-based PTGi (Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated) (NYSE: PTGI) which recently changed its stock ticker symbol to PTGI will ring The Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

The event will take place today with the honor given to chairman, President & CEO Peter D. Aquino. The company began trading under the new symbol June 27, 2011.

Geeknet, Inc. (Nasdaq:GKNT), which moved its headquarters from California to Fairfax County, Va last year has replaced its current CEO for ThinkGeek.

Colon Washburn will become President and Chief Executive Officer replacing Caroline Offutt who will remain a consultant of the Geeknet subsidiary.
