Montgomery County has placed it's bet on cybersecurity, making some ambitious moves to make sure it's a major player in the young and fast-growing industry, that includes converting a biotechnology incubator in Rockville to become the home of the newly formed National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE).

The NCCoE was created under the National Institute of Standards and Technology (a branch of the U.S. Department of Commerce with a large campus in Gaithersburg) to provide solutions to cybersecurity businesses on a national level.

Under the contract SAIC will support the United States Fleet Forces Command (USFF).

The United States Navy has Awarded Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) a prime single-award contract with a value of more than $42 million to support the United States Fleet Forces Command (USFF). The USFF supports the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and Combatant Commanders worldwide.

The six-month period of performance, four one-month options contract will allow SAIC to render operational and tactical support to the USFF and associated fleet commands.

Bethesda-based First Potomac Realty Trust (NYSE: FPO) has formed a joint venture with Perseus Realty of D.C. to develop the Greyhound Bus Terminal site at 1005 First Street, NE, Washington, D.C.

The site in the NoMa corridor (North of Massachusetts Avenue) was purchased for $46.75 Million with the intent of redeveloping it into a 712,000 square foot Class-A, LEED certified office building.
