Volkswagen Group of America September 2012 Sales (Chart)

Herndon-based Volkswagen Group of America reported its best September since 1972 with 36,663 units sold, making it the company's 25th consecutive monthly increase with a 34.4 percent jump year-over-year.

For the past nine months Volkswagen's U.S. sales totaled 323,089, a 37.2 percent increase. “Tracking over a 37 percent increase year-to-date is a strong proof point that our products are on more shopping lists and gaining acceptance in the market,” noted Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.  “As we enter the fourth quarter of the year, we expect to continue our pattern of outperforming the industry.”

Wolfsburg,Germany-based Volkswagen AG (PINK:VLKAY) is the parent company of its subsidiary, Volkswagen Group of America.
