A for-profit university offering post-secondary education services is expanding into a newly renovated building in Montgomery County’s largest office market in North Rockville.
With headquarters in a far-flung suburban area like Herndon, Va, Strayer University has attracted commuters with full-time jobs that require flexibility but also the possibility of earning a degree to boost their career and jobs prospects.
Now a little closer to D.C. and in the heart of region’s life sciences corridor, Strayer is expanding into 8,877 square feet at 1803 Research Blvd, the space will be renovated by Camson construction, inc of Gaithersburg at an estimated cost of $301,818. 1803 Research Blvd is owned by Research Blvd, LLC and managed by Avison Young.
The university will offer programs like Health Services Administration and Information Security in an area full of biotechs and a budding cyber security industry.
Strayer University is a subsidiary of publicly traded Strayer Education Inc (NASDAQ:STRA), the company shares were down over 2 percent to $54.59 per share in late afternoon trading. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $612.26 million.
