Reston-based TNS, Inc. (NYSE: TNS), a business software service provider for transaction-oriented applications, released third quarter 2011 results for the three month period ended September 30, 2011. Total revenue of $142.7 million was reported, a 9.3 percent increase from the third quarter of 2010 which amounted to $130.6 million.
The company narrowly beat the average analyst estimate of $141.31 million. The purchase of Cequint, Inc a year ago made a positive impact on revenue.
But net income was down 60 percent to $1.6 million from $4.0 million in the third quarter last year.
Adjusted earnings were $0.61 cents per share or $15.6 million which beat the average analyst estimate of $0.53 cents.
