Metro Business Media was first to report that Not Your Average Joe's – the Massachusetts-based restaurant known for Chef-driven American and international blend dishes – narrowed down a new location in Silver Spring at Ellsworth Place.
Details from Petrie Richardson Ventures showed that Not Your Average Joe's was interested in leasing a 6,500 square foot space at the Ellsworth Place main entrance on Colesville road. While the opening of a new location at the mall was not set in stone, that changes today with an official announcement from property owners Petrie Richardson Ventures and RockwoodCapital.
Not Your Average Joe's will indeed open a new restaurant in Silver Spring and has signed a long-term lease.
“Not Your Average Joe’s is the perfect addition to the family of retail here at Ellsworth Place,” said Terry Richardson, president and COO of Petrie Richardson Ventures. “Their inventive menu, affordable prices and family-friendly atmosphere pair well with the modern gathering place we are creating here at Ellsworth Place.”
“The atmosphere and menu, which we strive to keep creative and incorporate as much local offerings as we can, will be perfect for the diners at Ellsworth Place,” said Not Your Average Joe’s CEO and founder, Steve Silverstein. “We’re confident that our approach to casual dining will fit well with the tastes of Silver Spring residents and shoppers.”
Not Your Average Joe’s just opened a Bethesda location early this month and has achieved 25 percent growth at its other locations along the east coast.
Ellsworth Place is undergoing a massive $75 million redevelopment, not seen since the opening of the six-level indoor mall in 1992. The property formerly known as City Place Mall will include three new anchors, Michaels, Ross and TJ Maxx.
