McLean-based Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) will be involved in the relocation of the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters to the former Saint Elizabeths Hospital in the southeast section of D.C. and includes services at both the East and West Campuses.
The $90 Million subcontract was actually awarded to SAIC by General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) to support the defense contractor by providing information technology (IT) integration and implementation services. Terms of the subcontract include a seven-year base period of performance.
"We are pleased to be a part of the General Dynamics team to meet the future IT needs of the Department of Homeland Security," stated Doug Wagoner, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "The new IT infrastructure will enable a modern, efficient and sustainable IT system for DHS that will be secure and scalable for many years to come."
The new campus will contain over 14,000 employees when completed.
