Proposed Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown Gets Priority from Montgomery County

With a potential 1,500 new jobs on the way, Montgomery County Government sought it fit to ensure a successful launch of a new 93-bed Holy Cross Hospital proposed for the Germantown area of the County.

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett announced that the planned Holy Cross Hospital is the first Strategic Economic Development Project. To make it official Leggett signed Executive Order 173-11, Designation of Strategic Economic Development Projects.

The order urges the county and other agencies including Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, the Housing Opportunities Commission, Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College, the State of Maryland and the federal government to give priority to substantial economic development projects that create jobs with high-paying salaries for an educated workforce.

The new Holy Cross Hospital will be located on the Montgomery College Germantown Campus; Holy Cross Hospital has its main campus in Silver Spring.
