Not Your Average Joe's first D.C. area location in Gaithersburg opened to great fanfare. Seating areas are constantly packed on weekends with customers willing to cope with hour long waits (perhaps it's the Not Your Average Joe’s Dipping Sauce?).
With the successful launch of the Kentlands restaurant the company has opened several more locations including most recently a Bethesda location in the Wildwood Shopping center taking over a former Hamburger Hamlet Space.
Now the Massachusetts-based company seems to have it's sites on a third location in Montgomery County inside downtown Silver Spring. The location would be the former Taste of Morocco space in Ellsworth Place (formerly City Place Mall). It's considering becoming a new tenant and part of a major redevelopment of the six-story, urban indoor mall that would include at least four new anchors and the possibility of a Dave and Busters. Developer Petrie Richardson Ventures shows information that the Developer has signed a letter of intent and has a lease out.
Not Your Average Joe's would take 6,500 square feet and an additional 425 square feet of patio space on a highly visible portion of Colesville road. The restaurant would be in an ideal location, right in the heart of the Arts and Entertainment District and on the same side of the road with the historic AFI-Silver Theatre and across the street from the Fillmore Silver Spring music hall.
