General Dynamics Wins $900 Million Contract for Mission-Critical Operations

General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), a defense contractor based in the D.C. area announced that its General Dynamics C4 Systems business unit was awarded a contract from the U.S. Air Force's Global Broadcast Service (GBS) Joint Program Office at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.

The five-year contract agreement has a potential value of up to $900 Million and General Dynamics will be responsible for producing 1,500 Transportable Ground Receive Suites (TGRS) and the remanufacturing of 1,110 units already deployed on field.

General Dynamics with corporate headquarters in the unincorporated Falls Church-Fairfax County area said the GBS TGRS will utilize next-generation broadcasting system and advanced cryptographic equipment.

The tactical communication packages will be primarily produced in Taunton, Massachusetts. Richardson and Kilgore, Texas and Newton, N.C. will provide antennas, RF equipment and transit case through General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies.
