General Dynamics Receives $41 Million U.S. Navy Contract For Next-Generation Submarine

Falls Church, Va., based General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) reported that its Electric Boat

subsidiary in Groton, Connecticut., will develop the Common Missile Compartment for the next-generation strategic deterrent submarine.

The contract had two modifications, one for the replacement of the United States' Ohio submarine and the replacement for the United Kingdom's Royal Nay ballistic-missile submarine.

The second modification involves the operation of the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) at the naval submarine base in Groton, Conn. The Electric Boat division will continue to provide services at the base.

Both contract modifications are worth $16.1 million and $24.9 million respectively for a total value of $41 Million
