Defense contractor General Dynamics (NYSE:GD)completed its purchase of Westford, Mass based Fortress Technologies. The small firm wireless technology firm has 70 employees.
General Dynamics based in the unincorporated area of Falls Church in Fairfax County, did not disclose monetary terms of the deal besides it being a cash transaction.
"The acquisition of Fortress accelerates our ability to deliver a wider array of secure, Wi-Fi-based tactical wireless communication systems for military and government users worldwide," stated Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics C4 Systems. "These competitively priced products, based on commercial offerings, deliver unprecedented efficiencies in size, weight and power for users from the core to the very edge of the network."
General Dynamics expects the deal to add to earnings in 2012. General Dynamics has a market cap of approximately $26.56 Billion.
