D.C.-based Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR) fourth quarter financial results showed double digit increases in revenues as well as for earnings but the company barely made it past analyst estimates on a per share basis.
For the full year the science and technology designer and manufacturer brought in sales of $4.7 billion for the fourth quarter of 2011 a 37.5 percent increase over Q4 2010 when sales were $3.4 billion. Annual revenues increased 28 percent from $12.6 billion in 2010 to $16.1 billion for 2011. Danaher fourth quarter revenues were slightly below estimates. Analysts had estimated an average of $4.75 billion.
Net earnings performed better, Danaher reported $563.6 million for the fourth quarter 2011, or $0.79 cents per diluted share. That was up 19.5 percent from the same period in 2010 when earnings were $0.66 cents per diluted share.
Danaher beat the average earnings estimate from 21 analysts by a penny but the company anticipates lower earnings per share in the first quarter of 2012 with an expected range of $0.66 to $0.71 cents per share.
The company posted full year earnings of $1.9 billion, or $2.77 per diluted share.
