BroadSoft Acquires Foreign IP Communications Firm

Gaithersburg-based BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT) has announced its second definitive agreement to acquire an internet technology firm in the last three months.

The fast growing IP software maker is expected to complete the acquisition of Helsinki, Finland-based Movial Applications by 2012.

Movial Applications develops multimedia user interfaces for personal computers and mobile devices. BroadSoft expects the movial’s software to integrate with its own existing software applications and give clients another way to communicate.

BroadSoft will acquire Movial's software application technology and related assets, as well as certain employees.

Purchase price and terms were not disclosed, the acquisition is expected to be non-dilutive to BroadSoft’s non-GAAP earnings.
